  Boca Grande, on Gasparilla Island, is located an hour south of Sarasota on the west coast. It is 7 miles long and 1 mile at the widest point. There is a toll bridge to get on the island, at this time it cost $3.50 round trip.
  Boca Grande is a unique fishing community, famous for the great Tarpon fish.
Tarpon Season as it is called, starts around the 15th of April and goes until about the 1st of July.
  The island has many places of interest,  there is the Pink Elephant, the Loose Caboose Ice Cream Sandwich Shop, Jams, The Temp, and so many more.
